Kakariki

KAKARIKI GREEN!!!

Yesterday the whole of Waikanae School came together on the turf. We were meeting because we were introducing our new school houses- Kahurangi-blue, kowhai-yellow, whero-red and kakariki-green. Each class is part of a house. Room 2, 16,5,9 are all part of Kakariki- Green house. We dressed up in our house colour and practiced our chant. It was great to see everyone getting into the spirit of the house events. We started it off with a tug of war challenge, a basketball shoot off and then a buzz quiz. Kakariki at the end of the house competitions end up in 3rd place!

Swimming

Te Waharua Fun Swim

On Wednesday Te Waharua went to Waikanae Pools for a fun swim. It was turned out to be a beautiful day! Thank you to all the parents and caregivers for their help!

Sports

Kiwi Sports

This term the whole Te Waharua are taking part in Kiwi Sports every Thursday. We started last week. Our first lesson was all about balance. We played lots of games to practice our balancing, and we had heaps of fun while we did it.

Therese's Goat

Nomad Comes to School

Last week Therese brought her pet goat for news. Nomad was a wonderful, friendly and well behaved visitor to room 2. It was great to be able to pat and learn a bit about Nomad. Therese told us that he is 5 months old, he likes to eat flowers, weeds and dandelions. He even tries to go inside the house sometimes!! Thank you to Therese and her mum for bring Nomad into Room 2, we loved it!!
