Whale Waikanae Beach

Whale on Waikanae Beach

Yesterday Room 2 and 21 were lucky enough to be able to go and see the dead hump back whale. The whale had washed up onto the beach just down from the boating club. The Doc man at the beach told us that the whale was about 10-15 years old, a female hump back, and that she weighed about 30 tonne!! It was an interesting sight to see but also very sad!

Goodman's Trip

Goodmans Trip

Yesterday Room 2 and 21 went to Te Roto Drive Goodman's site to see the big machinery in action. This site is part of the working area where the new express highway is being built. It was really interesting to see all the machines in action! We really enjoyed climbing into the stationary machines at the end of the tour. We really got to see and feel what it would be like to work in a place like that. A huge thank you to all our tour guides and parent helpers! We loved it!!

The All Blacks

The All Blacks Visit to Waikanae School

On Thursday the 8th of August 4 of the All Black's visited Waikanae School. They were Cory Jane, TJ Perenara, Julian Savea and Dane Coles. We were so lucky to have them visit! While they were here they did a quick skills session with a selected few on our top field, and then some signature signing in the hall. Everyone loved having them visit and we felt very privileged to have them visit our school. Check out some of the photos below...
