Dino Quest
Over the past week Room 2 have been creating a narrative together called 'Dino Quest'.
We had a quick brainstorm about possible topics and then we voted to see which topic was most popular.
From there we all worked together to create the
- title
- setting
- characters
- story line
- major problem
We then individually came up with an ending to 'Dino Quest', we had decided whether we wanted a happy or a sad ending.
Below is the beginning of 'Dino Quest' that Room 2 wrote together. We hope you enjoy reading it.
Dino Quest
Long, long ago in a Dinosaur land faraway lived
threeTriceratops.
These three dinosaurs were the friendliest dinosaurs in all
the land, because they always saved stray eggs, and took them home to care for
them until they were ready to hatch. They did this even for their enemies eggs.
The Triceratops lived in a magnificent cave, it had drawings of all of the
different dinosaurs in the land, and when a new egg hatched they would draw its
picture on the cave wall aswell.
Not so far away lived an evil and nasty T Rex. This T Rex was
the king of the dinosaurs because of his astounding fighting skills. All of the
Dinosaurs bowed down to him and didn’t dare stand up to him. Little did the
T-Rex know what wonderful things the Triceratops were doing.
The Triceratops
had managed to stay out of the T Rex’s way and he didn’t know they even existed.
The T Rex had many little messengers around the Dino land, his
favourite and most loyal messenger was a Dinosaur called Velociraptor. Velociraptor
was a tiny, sneaky and fast creature that roamed around and spied on the
dinosaurs.
One day the Triceratops were out on another egg hunt. They
happened to come across a huge green egg with yellow spots on it. One of the
triceratops warned the others that it looked a lot like a T Rex egg, and that
they should be very cautious and careful to make sure the mother was nowhere to
be seen.
The other two triceratops said “Don’t be silly, we can’t leave here!”
“What if another prediator comes along and eats it?!” So they decided to take
it anyway. They carefully carried the precious egg home to their cave, and put
it to rest on a homemade incubator made out of mud, twig and grass.
Later on in Dino land the T-Rex came home from the lake where
he was hunting dinosaurs that were drinking and swimming at lake. He soon
realised that his egg had disappeared. The T-Rex was furious! The T-Rex roared
as loud as he could for his messengers.
When his loyal messenger arrived T-Rex
said to him “FIND MY EGG OR YOU WILL BE TOMORROWS DINNER!!!!”
The messenger ran
as fast as he could to go and find his masters egg. The sneaky Velociraptor was
about to give up his day long search when he discovered the cave of the
Triceratops. He quietly snuck inside to take a closer look. To his surprise he
found the egg that matched the T-Rex description, it was green with yellow
spots.
He hurried back to his master to tell him his discovery.
When the T-Rex heard the news he let out a tremendous roar
that rattled the entire Dino Land. He then stomped furiously across Dino land
destroying anything and everything that got in his way! When he reached the
cave he smashed the opening to the cave into smithereens ! The triceratops got
an awful fright but luckily they were prepared for unexpected visitors.

Miller's ending to the Dino Quest narrative....
The T-Rex did a roar and it was so loud that it made rocks fall on the cave entrance, so the T-Rex couldn't get in.
He tried all day long but he couldn't get in so he went, and when he went he said "I will be in there one day".
The next day when the triceratops woke up the entrance was smashed open adn the eggs and other live dinosaurs were gone!!! The first triceratops woke up his other brother's. He said "the eggs are gone."
Then they heard a noise and it was T-Rex walking away saying "I told you i would get in there one day".
Then the triceratops charged at him and butted him. He finally died so they cooked him, and then set free the other dinosaurs, and ate him, they said "We ate you up instead".
The End
Kai's ending to the Dino Quest narrative...
The triceratops had put a net on the roof and a button on the floor, so when an unexpected visitor come and steps on the button it will send the net down.
The T-Rex did step on the button and the net fell on him. The Triceratops were saying " You shouldn't have stepped on that button mate!"
After that they took the T-Rex to a private place where they could talk to him.
When the T-Rex heard all of this he decided to become good. So after that the T-Rex lived with the Triceratops and lived happily ever after.
The End
Meretene's ending to the Dino Quest narrative...
Then the T-Rex said "lets have a fight!" "If I win I get my egg, if I lose you keep my egg! Deal?"
Then one of the triceratops said "no" "We are just looking after the eggs that we..." The T-Rex said "I don't care". So they had a big battle. Three triceratops vs T-Rex. They both nearly smashed the egg into smithereens. But luckily they missed.
So when they just started one triceratops pressed a button. The T-Rex got trapped.
After that a very long time after the baby T-Rex hatched. So they let the baby T-Rex go.
The End
Faith's ending to the Dino Quest narrative...
The three triceratops had been planning a trap for years and waited a long time to use it. One of the triceratops disturbed the T-Rex by running round and screaming while the other two dinosaurs grabbed the egg and put it where they found it.
When they got back they tied a net to the cave and let it down on the T-Rex and locked him in a dungeon far far away where he was never seen again.
As for the other little dinosaur the Velciraptor he got thrown far far away where he was never seen again.
They lived happily ever after.
