PE

Large Ball Skills

Te Waharua's focus for PE this term is Large Ball Skills. We have been learning to hold the ball with both hands, and to make a 'W' shape with our fingers spread, and thumbs touching. Also we know to step forward to pass the ball and to step back when receiving. We have been enjoying having a go at shooting some goals in the shortest netball hoop. The whole of Room 2 have made big improvements in the short time we have been practicing!
Have a look at our photos below....

The Owl
It was a silent, misty night.
The wise, old bird
sat motionless in the pale moonlight.
He winked an eye
then flew silently into the
dark , dusky sky.
He spread his feathers,
mottled and brown,
gliding over the sleeping town.
Then he made a mournful shout-
be warned, little creatures,
the owl is out!!!

Teddy Bears Picnic

Teddy Bears Picnic

On Wednesday the 19th of March Te Waharua had a Teddy Bears Picnic on the grass area outside the hall. The weather was just right and it was a lovely spot to have a picnic with the trees and stream near by. It was great to see the whole of Te Waharua syndicate and their Teddy bears. Room 2 had a Teddy rescue race before settling down to eat their lunch. It was a fun and different way to spend our lunchtime and we are really looking forward to writing a recount about our Teddy Bears picnic. We hope you enjoy checking out our pictures below!

SNAG Golf

SNAG Golf

On Monday the 3rd of March Room 2 went over the school hall to take part in SNAG Golf. SNAG stands for Starting New At Golf. We learnt how to hold a golf club, stand correctly and swing. It was great learning something new and we really enjoyed the competition at the end to see what group could hit the most bulls eyes!
